Founder of SEEK foundation enjoyed herself at the IDEAS Expo in Miami, Florida. She did a workshop for teachers, on the Engineer Design Process using a Vex robot. She received a certificate for writing a Disseminator grant and teacher's manual that was sponsored by FPL.

SEEK has began to employee Youth Summer Interns. We hired 2, 12th grade students this year-Jada Newball and Kadeja Johnson. These are students who are studying a career in science and would like to teach it to their peers or younger children. Student interns received a stipend, community services hours, and will obtain a book scholarship toward their 1 semester of college courses.
These young ladies assisted the STEM Lead Teacher at different organizations during the summer, planned and review content (Calculating density of liquids, solar energy, robotics catapult with the Engineer design cycle, making cannon balls, and creating an amusement park using the engineer design cycle) with the STEM Lead Teacher, and volunteered for SEEK's Kids' Get Hip and Fit Fair. Urgent, Inc. STEM sessions

SEEK collaborated with Urgent Inc., to provide students STEM sessions on the topic of Renewable and Non-renewable Resources. The activities that students participated in were: Learning the Engineer Design Cycle to build build a solar oven, wind turbines, and solar design cars.

SEEK collaborated with Rolling Oaks Park to provide children in Miami Gardens. The activites that students participated in were: Measurement Race, calculating the density of different liquids, Learning the Engineer Design Cycle to build a robotics catapult and compete with their peers, playing the game Corn Hole ( 2-3 week project). The winners from the competition won donated items from Dick's Sporting Goods.

5th Annual Get Hip and Fit Fair

There was over 600 kids in attendance for our 5th annual Kids' Get Hip and Fit Fair. This is our 3rd year partnering up with Miami Beach PAL and it was a success! SEEKing a Cure Fundraiser

Ronald McDonald's Adopt a Meal
We partnered with Ronald McDonald's House to served dinner to families of terminally ill children through the Ronald McDonalds' "Adopt a Meal initiative.
Corretta Scott King Young Womens Leadership Academy
Six grade girls learned the content of Physical and Chemical changes through the activity of making lip balm. They also created a company name, logo, and a commercial pitch for their lip balm.
Christmas Giveaway from Giovanni Rossi
Giovanni Rossi, owner of Giovanni Rossi Fine Art hosted an essay contest for the students at Miami Norland Senior High School. Rossi awarded the overall winner with a laptop and 10 students will each receive $100 gift cards for the Holidays. Giovanni Rossi Fine Art teamed with up Miami Norland Science Teacher Anike Sakariyawo and Founder of S.E.E.K. Foundation for this contest. K Foxx and 1035 The BEAT/ iHeartMedia hosted the High School students at their station for the awards lunch and gave a tour of iHeartMedia on Monday, December 19th. Hooters provided the food for the children. Rossi provided transportation for the students. Congratulations to Rainya Wallace the overall winner of the laptop and $100 gift card.
4th Annual Get Hip and Fit Fair

SEEK partnered with Miami Beach PAL for their 4th annual, "Kids Get Hip and Fit Fair." This event promotes healthy eating and physical fitness awareness for kids. The Emcee for the event was Kimberly Bell from radio station 97.3. Children were engage with activities from the Florida Marlins Baseball Program, Workout Kings ProPerformance fitness drills, games of Tug-A-War, Burlap Potato Race, dance instruction from 24 Hour Fitness Instructor-Ms. Blue, Rock Climbing, motivated speech from Former NFL Player Adewale Ogunleye, interactions with Former NBA player Amar'e Stoudemire, healthy food donated by Hooters, children receive haircuts/hair styles/manicures from Beauty Anatomy Institute, and more. HandyInc has contracted with SEEK to provide STEM and Robotic services for after school tutorial services (activities were related to concepts learned from the school district) and their annual summer camp. The students learned how to make lip-balm through the concept of physical and chemical changes; they created simple circuits through the electricity unit; Also, the HandyInc campers were able to program a programmable robot and make an obstacle course for the programmable robot to complete.
Camp Honey Shine

Camp Honey Shine contracted with SEEK to provide STEM and Robotic services for the annual summer camp. The Honeybugs learned how to make lip-balm and lotion through the concept of physical and chemical changes; they created simple circuits through the electricity unit; they learned about how electricity works with renewable and non renewable resources by programming salt water fuel cars and solar robots. Also, the Honey Shine campers worked with Project Nao to program a robot to dance to a song of their choice. The Honeybugs were able to program a programmable robot during their last week of camp.

SEEK hosted its third annual Get Hip and Fit Fair located on Miami Beach PAL Center. There was over 400 kids in attendance for this event. Our goal is to promote a healthy and being physically fit lifestyle. We have partner up with Breakthrough Miami located at Miami Country Day School to work with a small group of girls. This program teaches middle school girls to create and improve modern technology through project based learning, rigorous content, and implementation of the Engineering Cycle. Some activities included making cosmetic lip balm, making soap, making lotion, attending an in-house field trip with Wild and Wacky Science about Properties of Matter, attending a fieldtrip to the Gold Coast Railroad Museum to learn about the formulas used to calculate potential and kinetic energy to build a rollercoaster, a session about Physical and Chemical Changes with Chef Richard Ingraham and many more to come.
